The aseptic evolution
The SIG Prime 55 In-line Aseptic pouch filler is the next evolution of our state-of-the-art spouted pouch filling equipment. With this evolution in aseptic filling technology, sterilization by an outside provider is no longer necessary, as the pre-made spouted pouches are delivered to you and then sterilized in the filling machine at your plant. This offers you:
- Additional cap and spout options
- Volume flexibility via pouch height and width changes
- Leading TCO performance enabled by new in-line sterilization method
Key features
The SIG Prime 55 In-line Aseptic is an in-line, dual-head filling machine. This automated filler requires one operator. The machine is capable of packaging high- and low-acid aseptic products in 1- to 16-ounce pre-made spouted pouches. The filler utilizes our patented SIG VST technology to sterilize the pouches and caps eliminating the need for third-party sterilization. The filler is equipped with a monitor interfaced to a programmable controller, ensuring low-acid aseptic conditions during sterilization and filling operations. All product contact surfaces are constructed out of 316L stainless steel, food-grade construction.
This system has visual warning indicators, a messaging system that displays fault condition(s) and, if necessary, stops the filling operation. In addition, if necessary, product may be automatically diverted away from the filler with messaging to upstream processing control.
- Linear configuration simplifies system service and maintenance
- Innovative, sustainable, and flexible aseptic pouch filling system
- Aseptic products eliminate need for preservatives, “cooked” flavors, and reliance on cold-chain logistics
- Capable of running high-barrier, recycle-ready structures that align with your goals around food waste and source reduction
- Clean-in-place (CIP) and sterilize-in-place (SIP) machine cycles are applicable. CIP cycle controlled by filler programming, works in line with your existing CIP system to complete the CIP circuit
How it works:
- Pouches are fed from rails into the filler. At this point, a date code is applied to the pouch.
- Pouches are shuttled through the sterilization process, where they are preheated, sterilized, and flushed, by a hygienic screw mechanism.
- Product is filled inside a sterile chamber with dual filling heads. Sterilized caps are lowered from a feeder bowl and hermetically-sealed to the spouts, finishing the pouch filling process.
- With aseptic technology, your products stay fresh without refrigeration throughout your distribution chain.
