Berglandmilch first in Austria to install a SIG SmileBig 24 Aseptic filling machine

Berglandmilch, Austria’s biggest dairy, continues its close partnership with SIG, as it installs the first SIG SmileBig 24 Aseptic filling machine in Austria at its production site in Klagenfurt. This new investment will enable Berglandmilch to fill products in SIG SmileBig carton packs, offering busy consumers a highly convenient and stylish packaging solution for on-the-go or home consumption.

By launching the first products in SIG SmileBig carton packs in Austria, Berglandmilch’s beverages will be filled in a pack with a shape that stands out on retail shelves and offers a new drinking experience at every sip, with its curved modern shape and easy-grip corners. SIG SmileBig is available in five volumes: 200, 250, 300, 330 and 350ml, all of which can be filled on the same filling machine, and can be offered with an easy opening solution, paper straw or a one-step closure.

The flexible SIG SmileBig 24 Aseptic filling machine can fill up to 24,000 carton packs per hour, in five different volumes and can run SIG Terra or standard packaging materials, both mainly consisting of paperboard, that is FSC™-certified.

Berglandmilch will use the pack’s volume variety and the filling machine’s flexibility to launch milk, cream, yoghurt drinks, innovative meal replacement and plant-based products in SIG SmileBig, as well as its popular Latella drinks.
