SIG Foundation

We envision a future where good nutrition and clean water are available to everyone and natural habitats are preserved for the future generation.

Together with partners, the foundation’s purpose is to identify, drive and promote activities and projects that strengthen civil society and create positive impacts for the environment. These goals are consistent with SIG’s sustainability strategy – the net-positive commitment to contribute more to society and the environment than the company takes out.

Cartons for Good

We believe nothing should be wasted. Our flagship project, Cartons for Good, offers innovative solutions to combat food loss, food waste and malnutrition. By using SIG technology and fostering collaboration, we aim to ensure widespread access to healthy nutrition.

In Bangladesh, where the foundation is running the project, surplus food is preserved in SIG packages for schools to offer underprivileged children regular lunches throughout the year. This means that they can come to school instead of having to work for their food.

Cartons for Good

In future, the initiative aims to intensify partnership with SIG customers to use SIG technology to turn food loss and waste affected fruits and vegetable into nutrition for those who need it most.

Cartons for Good supports the following Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations:

Recycle for Good

Waste pollution is a major environmental issue. Launched in Jakarta, Southeast Asia, in 2023, the initiative will be expanded to other countries where SIG operates.

Through the Recycle for Good program, SIG and the SIG Foundation seek to change behavior by encouraging people to drop off their recyclable waste at collection points or arrange for home pickup, promoting the circular economy.
